BUSHTON — A total of 10 students participated in the Ellsworth County Spelling Bee from Central Plains Elementary/Middle School on Wednesday, Feb. 1. These were the finalists from our schoolwide spelling bee, which was held in January.
Participating were: Amelia Bailey, Hannah Ames, Colin Strong, Matthew Donecker, Lauren Oeser, Zoe Wimmer, Natalie Rolfs, Kassidy Nixon, Lane Rolfs and Weston Miller. The two alternates were Kristi Weeks and Weston Miller. Weston participated, as Melissa Donecker was ill.
“Each participant tried his or her very best. We are proud of Amelia Bailey, 8th grader, for taking 5th place,” Jane Oeser, Central Plains Elementary and Middle School Principal said. “Congratulations!”
