The lift station Rehabilitation on Eisenhower Street will be beginning this week. Eisenhower Street will be down to one lane between 10th and 12th for approximately two weeks. The personnel urge motorists to be careful and attentive when driving in this area.
This is one of 20 lift stations, used to “stair-step” wastewater through the sewers to the treatment plant, all of which date back to the 1970s and most of which need renovations. In December, Public Works received the go-ahead from the City Council to rehabilitate the two needing the most work, those at Eisenhower and McCormick streets.
Those with questions or concerns can contact Reuben Martin, Utilities Superintendent, 620-793-4170.
