Feedback sought on school improvements

The community is invited to attend a community feedback meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Great Bend Middle School Commons Area. Focusing on school facilities and potential improvements, attendees will hear results and feedback from the recent community survey and discuss proposed options and changes to the previous bond proposal.

“The feedback we’ve received so far has been very helpful,” said Khris Thexton, USD 428 superintendent, speaking of the recent community survey. “Having a conversation and open dialog about the proposed improvements and renovations is the best way to determine what revisions, and ultimately what new facility plan, the community will support.”

District administration will also share more information and open discussion on the academic benefits of district-wide preschool, academic benefits of moving sixth  grade to the Great Bend Middle School, as well as address questions about safety and security, aging facilities, and proposed renovations.

For more information contact the USD 428 District Education Center by calling 620-793-1500.
