At the beginning of each school year for over 20 years, the First Presbyterian Church in Great Bend has worked with USD 428 staff in a project called “Mission Possible.”  The goal of Mission Possible is to make it possible for children to have clean underwear, socks, sweatpants, or shorts when needed.

Members of the church purchase needed items and make donations toward this. This year, church members were given the opportunity to purchase these items at a Mission Possible Mini-Market following a Sunday morning worship service. That same day, Michelle Daniel, a parent contact coordinator at Riley Elementary in Great Bend, received the donated clothing which will be divided with all of the elementary schools in Great Bend.

During the worship service Daniel expressed her appreciation in behalf of the schools, adding that they often run out before the year is over. If that happens, First Presbyterian Church stands ready to provide needed items and continue to make Mission Possible.
