Get into the spirit of Halloween at the Barton County Historical Society. All through the month of October, the historical society will present a classic movie monster film on Friday evenings at 8 p.m. The films will be played outside, so wear your hoodies, and bring your lawn chair or a blanket to sit on and see these black-and-white classics.

Pets are welcome if leashed, cleaned-up after, and kept under control. Admission is free for the film and the historical society will offer bags of popcorn for $2 and soda for $1.

The schedule is as follows: Oct. 7 Frankenstein (1931); Oct. 14 Bride of Frankenstein (1935); Oct. 21 Son of Frankenstein (1939); Oct. 28 Ghost of Frankenstein (1942).
