The Great Bend Toastmasters group held its most recent meeting on Jan. 14 at the Great Bend Public Library.  Meetings in 2016 will occur from noon to 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at the library, 1409 Williams St. They are free and open to the public. The next meeting is set for Jan. 28.  
Individuals who attend these sessions learn to plan and conduct meetings, give impromptu speeches, present prepared speeches, and offer other members constructive evaluations, according to local member Krystall Barnes.   There are also opportunities to participate in local, national and worldwide speaking competitions for those who are interested.
