GBHS Debate places three teams

The Great Bend High School debate team brought three teams to the Boot Hill Classic Debate Tournament at Dodge City High School on October 29th. All three debate teams placed. In the novice division Tatyana Badue and Bayle Sandy place first with a 5-0 perfect win/loss record and 18 speaker points. Badue and Sandy comment, “This is a really fun tournament. Every tournament we go to is another learning experience on what to improve on.” In the varsity division Ashtin Heath and Aaron Miller place second with the 4-1 win/ loss record and 19 speaker points. Also in the varsity division novice student Patrick Heath and second year student Geoffrey Pafford place sixth with a winning 3-2 win/loss record.
Patrick Heath said, “Going in the open division was a really great experience.” GBHS debate coach Barbara Watson stated, “My team has consistently been doing well this season and I am very proud of them.”
