GBHS Speech Team qualifies four more to state

At the Greensburg Speech Tournament on Saturday, six students competed and seven events placed. Carter Sheffield qualified all three of his events to state again of by placing 1st in Serious Solo Acting, 1st in Poetry Reading Interpretation and 2nd in Impromptu Speaking.
Ashtin Heath qualified her Serious Solo Acting event to state again by placing 2nd. Kenna Dirks placed 4th in Serious Solo Acting and 5th in Prose Reading Interpretation. The team placed 3rd overall in Sweepstakes out of 15 schools. The squad already has 12 events qualified for the state championships Tournament in May.
The GBHS Squad will be hosting their own speech tournament on Saturday and they still need adults from the community to act as judges from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Anyone interested in judging may contact Barbara Watson at the High School, (620) 793-1521 extension 201.
