The Great Bend Recreation Commission is asking for the public’s help decorating the outside area around the Great Bend Rec Activity Center at 2715 18th St. with decorated pumpkins for Halloween.

This can be a family, youth, or adult activity that everyone can enjoy. Anyone wishing to help is asked to decorate a pumpkin any way they would like and bring it by the Activity Center on Saturday, Oct. 31, between 9 a.m. and noon. GBRC staff will be on hand to show participants where to place their decorated pumpkins.

GBRC staff asks the pumpkins be decorated appropriately for all ages to see, that decorations not be politically related, and that pumpkins not contain candles. Everyone that drops off a pumpkin will receive a Halloween treat.

The public is invited to drive by the Activity Center to look at all the pumpkins. Anyone wishing to have their pumpkin returned may pick it up any time after 6 p.m. on Oct. 31. Any pumpkin not picked up by 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1 will be discarded by GBRC staff.
