The Great Bend Pilot Club sells geraniums each year and then uses the profit to help with their community projects, with an emphasis on protecting the brain. They reach over 800 young students (per year) acting out and telling them how to protect their brain. The organization has been responsible for getting a lift for the pool at Club 1 Fitness so that stroke victims can get into the pool and exercise. In 2010, the club provided Wiis for four different organizations. Approximately 25 car booster seats were provided to families of children in head-start program in 2011 and more were given in 2012. In 2012, the club gifted $935 to USD 428 earmarked for the purchase of detection kits and car seats to support the Family and Consumer Science Classes at GBHS. This class teacher instructs at least 100 students a year how to put a baby in the car seat correctly and the importance of same. For the last 3 years, the club has made approximately 25 blankets (per year) for children in foster homes.
