Lincoln Mayorga, versatile pianist and performer who has enjoyed one of the busiest studio careers in Hollywood, will present the Golden Belt Community Concert Association’s next concert set for 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.
This event is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door by showing their school ID. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.
Staff pianist for Walt Disney Studios, Mayorga contributed to the soundtracks of such motion pictures as “Chinatown,” “The Rose” and “Ragtime.” His television credits include “Little House on the Prairie,” “Dallas” and original scores for “Fame.” As an accompanist, arranger and conductor, he has recorded with the likes of Johnny Mathis, Barbra Streisand, Mel Torme, Phil Ochs, Frank Zappa and Quincy Jones.
Mayorga has taken his 18th-to-21st-century repertoire to more than 200 cities around the world. Performances with Itzhak Perlman, Richard Stoltzman, Michael Tilson Thomas and numerous American orchestras reflect his diverse repertoire. His recordings of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” and “I Got Rhythm” Variations with the Moscow Philharmonic, often played on the radio, have been widely praised in the music press.
