In an effort to spread awareness of cardiovascular conditions, heart attack and stroke prevention, Heart of Kansas Family Health Care Inc. is sponsoring its own Heart Walk event during American Heart Month. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Great Bend Events Center. There will be a marked track, where the Heart of Kansas walk team will be walking to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Booths will be open to the public, offering free heart health education, blood pressure readings and screening measures to those who wish to attend.
Participants will be eligible to enter a prize raffle with every freewill donation of $5 or greater toward the American Heart Association. The Heart of Kansas Family Health Care Inc. invites all local individuals and businesses to participate in this event and support the effort to raise awareness for this cause. Masks will be required to wear for all individuals over the age of 3.
