Heartland Cancer Center to sponsor health events

Great Bend’s Heartland Cancer Center, 204 Cleveland St., will sponsor trio of health-related events in February.
 • Tuesday, Feb. 9—Stop by to purchase some yummy treats from the 2016 Relay for Life Bake Sale. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Barton County. The bake sale will take place at Heartland Cancer Center, 204 Cleveland St.
• Thursday, Feb. 18—Heartland Cancer Center will host an ITV presentation of a Komen Impact panel discussion among breast cancer survivors, researchers and physicians in the reception area from 5-7 p.m. Dr. Mark Fesen will be hosting the event, and will have a question-and-answer period following the event.
• Thursday, Feb. 25—Heartland Cancer Center, along with the Barton County Health Department, Clara Barton Hospital, Heartland Regional Health Clinic and the Midwest Cancer Alliance, will host the showing of “Someone you Love: The HPV Epidemic,” a documentary about HPV (Human Papillomavirus) and the relationship to cancer. The showing will take place at Golden Belt Cinema Six at 6pm. Following the showing will be a question and answer time with physicians, survivors and experts. HPV vaccinations will be offered on site; children ages 9 and up are encouraged to get the vaccine. Attendees will also receive complimentary popcorn and a drink.
