John Henderson

HOISINGTON – John Henderson is a write-in candidate for the Ward 4 Hoisington City Council seat. The election is Nov. 5.

He submitted the statement below:

“My name is John Henderson and I am running as a write-in candidate for Hoisington City Council – Ward #4.

“I am a graduate of Fort Hays State University with a BBA in Accounting (Public Accounting) and a BBA in Finance (Personal Finance) and currently work at CUNA Mutual Retirement Solutions.

“After growing up in Hoisington I lived in several places across the Midwest and Pacific Northwest before returning home. While I will always speak positively of my time away, I am most appreciative that it taught me how unique, comforting, and wonderful this community can be. I am proud to have returned home to put down roots with my loving wife and baby boy.

“The City of Hoisington continues to take essential, proactive steps to enhance our economic footing. Unfortunately, many new businesses seem to disappear just as quickly as they arrive. For every successful new business on Main Street, there is still an empty storefront.

“I am running for City Council because I believe it is time for a fresh perspective based on a measured approach to improving the city by ensuring our short-term actions are aligned with what is necessary for our long-term growth and stability.

“My commitment is to encourage the continued improvement of city infrastructure. My commitment is to improve communication between the city administration and the citizens of Hoisington. My commitment is to invite new economic development while supporting our local business. My commitment is to serve the citizens that call Hoisington home.”
