Hoisington PD investigating attempted kidnapping

HOISINGTON — The Hoisington Police Department has asked the public for information related to an attempted kidnapping event Wednesday evening in the community as part of an active investigation.

According to information supplied by the HPD, at approximately 6:15 p.m., a juvenile was approached by subjects in a white van while walking in the 800 block of Second Street. A male subject attempted to force the victim into the vehicle, but the victim was able to break free and run.

The vehicle is described as a white full-size van with peeling paint, a sliding rear passenger door and occupied by at least two subjects.

The HPD is asking the public if anyone has information about this incident to contact them. They are also asking that if anyone has video surveillance or cameras in the area of West Second Street in Hoisington around the time of the incident, to contact the police department at 620-653-2223.
