Injury accident reported after trailer comes unhitched

A two-vehicle accident occurred at 12:45 p.m. Friday on K-96, just northwest of Great Bend.
The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded and reports a 2015 GMC truck pulling a utility trailer, operated by Richard L. Kasselman, 64, of rural Great Bend was westbound on K-96 when the trailer came unhitched and crossed left of center. It struck an eastbound 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup operated by Loretta L. Lauer, 52 of rural Pawnee Rock. The trailer went under the Dodge pickup causing it to roll two times.
Lauer was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital with numerous injuries. Kasselman was not injured.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
