Dynamic aerospace engineer, singer, and the founder of STEMusic LLC. Roy Moye III will be the keynote speaker at the 18th Annual Jack Kilby Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Day (JKSD) from 9:15-10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m. Nov. 21 in the Fine Arts Auditorium. His speech is free and open to the public.

Moye earned his bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Wichita State University and represented his university in the global AIAA Design, Build, Fly competition where he and his team placed 15th in the world. As a Spirit AeroSystems structural design engineer, he designed parts for multiple Boeing aircraft including the Boeing 777X, KC-46, and 767.

Moye is also an accomplished singer and he has performed the national anthem for professional sports teams such as the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the USA Men’s Soccer Team. In the Spring of 2019, he was a top 20 finalist on the nationally televised BET gospel singing competition “Sunday Best.” Most recently, Moye and his fellow group mates of “1 Tribe Collective” received a Grammy Nomination for their children’s music album “All One Tribe.”

JKSD is designed to increase student interest in STEM majors and careers by providing opportunities for high school students to participate in breakout sessions led by STEM professionals.  Hands-on activities related to each presenter’s field give students a chance to ‘“try out a job.”
