On Wednesday, July 10 the Great Bend Public Library and Jordaan Memorial Library in Larned will host “Laughing Matters,” an entertainment group made up of Jay Cady and Leslie Seifert-Cady from Mission, Kansas. Jay and Leslie have been full-time professional entertainers since 1980, and they specialize in juggling as well as magic, miming, and comedy.
The performers were students of legendary mime Marcel Marceau, and have performed more than 6000 shows in 35 states and 7 foreign countries. Jay and Leslie have been nominated for Best of Kansas City Theater Awards twice, and in 2010 they received the Lighton Prize for Excellence as Teaching Artists.
The 45-minute “Flights of Fancy” juggling and comedy show will begin at 2 p.m. in Great Bend and is appropriate for children (4+ years old), teens, and adults, said Michael Adamyk at the library. The program can also be seen at 10:30 a.m. in Larned.
