Kansas Highway Patrol reports three vehicle crash

JUNCTION CITY — Three vehicles were involved in an injury accident Friday evening, Nov. 25, in Geary County. The accident occurred 600 feet West of South Washington Street in Junction City on I70 Eastbound.
The driver of a 2004 Honda Element, Mark W. McGrath, 44 of Steamboat Springs, Colo., was west bound in the east bound lane of I70 inside lane. A 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Dayton R. Ratzlaff, 47, of Louisville, Ga., was east bound I70 in the inside lane. Both the Element and the Tahoe colided a glancing blow. The Element went into the median and rolled. The Tahoe continued east bound coming to a stop on the inside shoulder. A third vehicle, a 2002 Ford Mustang driven by Steven J. Kalivoda, 35 of Manhattan, was eastbound on I70 and ran over road debris.
McGrath sustained an injury and was tranported to Geary Community Hospital. It is unknown if he was wearing a seatbelt. All seven occupants of the Tahoe were not injured. They were Dayton Ratzlaff, Cathy Ratzlaff, 44, Logan Ratzlaff, 16, Devon Ratzlaff, 8, Sonya Ratzlaff, 17, Cathy Ratzlaff, 4, and Janae Ratzlaff, 5, all of Louisville, Ga. They all wore safety restraints. Kalivoda was uninjured, and was wearing a safety belt.
