Key Leader scholarships available for teens

JUNCTION CITY — The Great Bend Noon Kiwanis Club will be taking high school students to Key Leader Camp, June 2-4 at Rock Springs 4-H Camp, Junction City. This three-day event is available for graduating eighth graders through graduating seniors. Cost is $250; however scholarships are still available that could pay all or part of the fee, said Barb Esfeld, local coordinator.
Key Leader provides opportunities to make new friends and to learn communication and leadership skills through a series of group events, small breakout groups and a ropes challenge course. The program is centered on five key principles: Personal integrity, personal growth, respect, building community and pursuit of excellence. Since 2005 there have been over 26,973 Key Leader graduates at nearly 533 conferences.
Camp starts at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 2, and runs through 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4. Transportation from Great Bend may also be available. For more information contact Esfeld via phone at 785-483-1384.
