The Kory Brunson Band presented a concert to benefit Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer Foundation on Friday evening, March 7 at the Crest Theater. Brunson, a native of Great Bend now living in Thornton, Colo., made the trip home to donate his time and talent to the local organization that provides assistance to families in Barton County living with cancer.
Kans for Kids is currently providing emotional and financial assistance to two Great Bend boys and their families. Dade Cannon, 10, is battling leukemia for the second time in his young life. He had been hospitalized at KU Medical Hospital in Kansas City for two weeks but returned to Great Bend on March 6 and was able to attend the concert. To his delight, the band presented him with an autographed guitar.
Kadin White, 11, was diagnosed with leukemia in October of 2012 and has had a tough battle thus far. He was a patient at Great Bend Regional Hospital and unable to attend the concert. The band visited Kadin on Saturday morning in the hospital.
