LARNED — A Larned motorist died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Pawnee County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Danielle C. Garcia, 22, of Larned, was transferred to Wichita’s Wesley Medical Center after being transported to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at 7:50 a.m. on U.S. 56, about a quarter of a mile west of Larned.

The patrol reports Garcia was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze eastbound on U.S. 56 when her vehicle rear-ended a 1996 Freightliner driven by James M. Thompson, 55, of Burdett. He was not injured. Thompson’s Freightliner had slowed to turn into a private drive when his semitrailer was struck.
The Chevrolet Cruze was removed by B and B Towing. KHP reports both drivers were wearing safety restraints.
