In celebration of Kansas Day, the second-grade students at Lincoln Elementary school released bright yellow balloons into the blue Kansas sky on Jan. 29. In notes attached to each balloon, students shared a Kansas Day greeting as well as their favorite thing to do in Great Bend. The notes also included the school’s address in hopes that, once found, a return note will be sent back to the school.
In anticipation of “their turn” next year, first-grade students were spectators at the balloon release.
The second-grade teachers are Meredith Ramsey and Anna Loera.
