Dr. Whittington
to be welcomed

LARNED — Pawnee Valley Medical Associates in association with Pawnee Valley Community Hospital will sponsor a reception for Dr. Chris Whittington from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the PVCH conference room.

Diabetes class scheduled
for Wednesday morning

LARNED — Pawnee Valley Community Hospital will sponsor its community diabetes education classes from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday.

Topics that will be covered include: general diabetes information, meter use, medication, foot care, treating hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia, meal planning and carb counting.

Chamber coffee will
feature United Way

LARNED — This week’s Chamber Coffee Hour will be hosted by the United Way of Central Kansas at Shopko, 908 E. 14th Street in Larned on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30. Join them during their Stuff the Bus event.


Welcome Inn garage
bake sale Saturday

LARNED — The Welcome Inn Garage and Bake sale is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Donation items are welcome and can be left at the Welcome Inn at 113 W. 4th Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. No clothes, shoes or broken items will be accepted.


United Methodist Church
will celebrate Saturday

LARNED — The Larned United Methodist Church will celebrate 140 years of Christian service Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at 701 Main Street.
Birthday cake will be served at 6 p.m., followed by a concert by 4-Told, a gospel singing group. Everyone is welcome.


Pawnee Foundation
golf event Sunday

LARNED — The 4th Annual Tee Off For Better Health Golf Classic is scheduled Sunday at the Larned Country Club.
Proceeds benefit the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation and advance healthcare in Pawnee County. The 4-player scramble event is limited to 18 teams. Entry fee is $50 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and prizes. Pre-register by calling 620-285-8840.
