Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — The Nov. 29 meeting of the guild began with a display of fabric for future prayer quilts available to members making the quilts.
Thank you notes were read from Tayleene and Mark Van Norton, Lee and Dorothy Kroh and from Opal Macy’s brother.
Thanks go to Keith Melkus who donated embroidered tea towels for sale with the money going to the Prayer Quilt Ministry and to Lou Branham of Oswego for a large quilting ruler.
Ann Hicks tip for the meeting was the use of antique potholders as pockets for aprons and other decoration.  Rita Schaller has recently been given a quilt from blocks she won on the monthly drawing which ended in the summer.  Four prayer quilts are currently being constructed.
Several of the quilters volunteered to help with the Presbyterian Church’s third Advent Supper starting at 6 p.m. Dec. 21. The next regular meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6 with members bringing potluck and a notions gift.
Show and Tell participants were  Myrna Cannon, apron for a gift; Susan Gray, Christmas purse and three table toppers; Carol Tims, fabric bows and a kelly green, bright blue and golf quilt top; Alice Clapsaddle, Christmas stocking and tree skirt from a Chief Joseph blanket; Colleen Wolf, trimmed hand towels, pot holders and bobbin holder; and Ann Hicks, four prayer quilt tops and matching backs.
