CNA class offered

LARNED — Barton Community College will offer a Certified Nurse Aide Course from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays from Feb. 13 through April 16.  There will also be separate sessions at the same times on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 14 through April 17, at the Larned Healthcare Center, 1114 West 11th St.,  Larned. The instructor will be Andra Alderson.
Students are required to complete an enrollment process that includes admission application to Barton, a reading assessment, completion of documents and payment prior to the start of the class. Tuition and fees are $490 for non-Barton County residents and $475 for Barton County residents. This includes the state exam fee. Textbook fees are additional. To receive certification, students must complete the state examination. Scholarships for part-time students are available.

City council refiles

LARNED — Ruth Searight, Pawnee County Clerk, reports the Larned City General Election will be held Tuesday, April 3.
The four current city council members have refiled for their positions.
Ward One Council Member — Gary Rainbolt.
Ward Two Council Member — George Elmore.
Ward Three Council Member — Harry E. Zielke, Jr.
Ward Four Council Member — Barbara Hammond.
