Alpha Kappa Master meet

LARNED — President Merlene Baird welcomed members of the Kappa Alpha Master sorority at her home for a 7 p.m. sandwich and goody party for beginning day.  The executive committee recommended the 2012-13 budget and it was unanimously voted in.  
The yearbooks were distributed and the service and social committees reviewed the year’s activities. A picnic on Sept. 13 is scheduled at the rural home of Jerry and Julie Ford. Secret sisters were selected by each member for the coming year.
Members were reminded that the chapter will host Founder’s Day in April for Larned’s Beta Sigma Phi.
The next regular meeting will be at the home of Marcia King at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 beginning with a presentation of the Canine Program by the Pawnee County Sheriff Department.

Kids Club to meet

LARNED — The Assembly of God Kids Club will begin from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Kids’ Club is for youngsters kindergarten through fifth grade. It will meet each Wednesday at 921 Broadway. For information, or to be added to the bus route, call the church office at 285-3077.

Chamber coffee set

LARNED — Thursday’s Chamber Coffee Hour will be hosted by Ralph Baird Motors at the Larned High School gymnasium from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Information will be provided on the third “Drive One 4 UR School” promotion, which is scheduled Saturday, Oct. 6. All money raised go towards funding Larned High School activities.

Benefit will help

LARNED — Larned HealthCare Center is currently taking orders for homemade enchiladas and also selling tickets for a drawing for an IPAD. Enchiladas can be ordered from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, through Sept. 4 by calling Carie Perez, Vicki Perez or Paulette Miller at Larned HealthCare Center (620) 285-6914.
Tickets for the IPAD can be purchased by calling Carie Perez at Larned HealthCare through Sept. 14. All proceeds raised will go the The Foundation for Geriatric Education.
