Blanket drive scheduled
LARNED — The city of Larned in conjunction with Larned EMS and volunteers is sponsoring a Blanket Drive. Blankets or donations may be dropped off weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall, 417 Broadway until Dec. 17.
Larned EMS will deliver to the elderly and low income families needing help. City staff is accepting names and addresses of those needing blankets. For information, call Gary Hartman, 620-285-8505 or Frieda Smith, 620-285-8509.
Appointments accepted
LARNED — Appointments are being accepted for the monthly Pawnee County Health Department’s lab days scheduled Friday, Nov. 30. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 10 a.m. at the first floor of the Pawnee County Courthouse, 715 Broadway. Patients need to fast for 12 hours before the appointment.

Available lab tests are Comprehensive Metabolic Panel, Lipid Panel, TSH and Hemagram, $30; Comprehensive Metabolic Panel includes lipid profile, thyroid TSH, electrolytes, liver enzymes, glucose, hemogram (CBC) and other tests. Individual tests, CMP, $15; Lipid Panel $10; TSH, $8; Hemagram, $10; Free T4, $8; PSA, $15; and HgbA1C, $8.
The health department offers the service in conjunction with Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. The first-come, first-serve, walk-in clinic requires no appointment. The lab days are scheduled the fourth Friday of each month. The lab day is private pay and no health insurance is billed.
