Larned TOPS to meet Monday
LARNED — The start of a new year is a good time to work on improving ones health. TOPS is an organization that helps those struggling with weight problems. TOPS stands for take off pounds sensibly.
TOPS is about encouragement and learning tools for lifelong health. Members thrive on strong positive reinforcement and a cheerful friendship is developed in the meetings.
The Larned Local Chapter will hold an open house from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at the Episcopal Church, 803 Main Street. The open house is for men, women, teenagers and older children.
TOPS will meet every Monday. There is weigh-in from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and a short meeting follows. Members are not required to follow a specific diet, nor or they required to count calories or points.
“It is a good support group,” said one member. “We have good programs to help anyone lose weight. We are a fun group.”
Another member said, “I have belonged to TOPS for a number of years. It has helped me lose weight, but I particularly enjoy the camaraderie of the group. We have a common goal and that helped me stay on track.”
