Grumpy’s featured Thursday

LARNED — Thursday’s Larned Chamber of Commerce Coffee Hour will be hosted by Grumpy’s Steak House and Bar, the new public restaurant at the Larned Golf Course from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. There will also be a ribbon cutting for this new Larned business.

Quilting scheduled Thursday

LARNED — The third in a series of events celebrating National Quilting Month will start at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Jordaan Library. Virginia Bauer will present “Easy Circles.”
The demonstration will include samples for viewing and a handout of directions. Bauer is an active member of The Quilting Bees, the local guild in Larned. For information, call 285-1056.

Fish fry Friday

LARNED — The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Scenic Drive.
The menu includes fish, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, bread and drink. All proceeds will go to charitable causes.

Garfield offers lunches

GARFIELD — The Garfield Lutheran Church will be offering free take-home lunches for the school age children of Garfield for spring break. If you are interested in taking part, you can come to the church from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday and pick up lunches for your children. If you need to make other arrangements, call 620-285-3475.
