LHS homecoming

LARNED — Larned High School’s homecoming week will be celebrated this week.
• Monday — A bonfire is scheduled at 8:30 p.m. at Jordaan Park.
• Tuesday — Car window painting is scheduled starting at 4 p.m. in the Larned High School parking lot.
• Friday — A homecoming parade will start at 3 p.m. in downtown Larned. Tailgating starts at 5:30 p.m. on the high school practice field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Flags being collected

LARNED — Larned resident Mildon Yeager is collecting faded and tattered U.S. flags for proper retirement through Sept. 18.
Flags can be placed in a plastic bag and hung on the flagpole at 416 Wichita Ave. Flags will be delivered to Great Bend for retirement.

County to meet

LARNED — The Pawnee County Commissioners will meet Monday. Kurt Demel, Pawnee County highway administrator will meet with commissioners.

School board to meet

LARNED — The Fort Larned USD 428 board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the district office.
Agenda items include: audience with individuals and groups; activity accounts; Neighborhood Revitalization; long-range planning process; classified handbook; reports; executive session; nominations; separations; transfers; appointment of new board president; elect new vice president; and process of filling vacant board position.

Sleep apnea clinic set

LARNED — The Pawnee Valley Sleep and Diagnostic Center will sponsor a sleep apnea clinic from 5–6 p.m. Thursday in meeting room A at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital. Due to your requests we will be doing mask and equipment overviews during this clinic. Sleep apnea patients, families and friends are invited.

Hunter safety set

LARNED — A Hunter Safety Course will be held Saturday, September 14, at 8:00 a.m. at the Larned Community Center. Students must pre-register for the course in order to get directions to complete the online portion of the certification. Either call the contact, or visit www.safehunters.com for online registration. Students much complete the online portion of the course (https://programs. ksoutdoors.com/prg/Programs/Hunter-Eduction-
Certifiction) prior to attending the field day. Each
student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials.

Color run scheduled

ROZEL — The city of Rozel will sponsor a 5K color run Sept. 14. The race begins at 7:30 a.m., with registration starting at 6:30 a.m. The cost is $30. Register on-line at www. rozelcity.com.
