Burdett’s Christmas
celebration Saturday

BURDETT — The annual Burdett Christmas party is scheduled Saturday. Coffee will be served at the Legion Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. Street games start at 10 a.m. The Christmas parade will assemble for judging at 1 p.m. in front of Foos’ Shop.
The celebration is sponsored by the American Legion. Sons of American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and Burdett Pride.

Rozel holiday party
scheduled Sunday

ROZEL — The Rozel Christmas party will start with lunch served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Rozel Community Center. The Christmas parade starts at 12:30, with entries starting at the south end of Main Street. Drawing for prizes and games will be held at the school. Santa Claus will visit the city building for photos at 1:30 p.m.
The celebration is sponsored by the Rozel Lions Club, Rozel Pride and the city of Rozel.

Pawnee commission
will meet Monday

LARNED — The Pawnee County commission will meet at 10 a.m. Monday.
Agenda items — Christmas to county employees, 10 a.m.; Kurt Demel, Pawnee County highway administrator, Camp Pawnee, equipment updates, road updates, 11 a.m.

PVCH’s ‘Ask the Expert’
scheduled for Monday

LARNED — Shelly Stanton who will discuss the imaging department when the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital Foundation sponsors “Ask The Expert” at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the large conference room at Pawnee Valley.
Stanton will talk about the 64-slice CT scanner, the nuclear camera and how imaging services benefit patients.
Everyone is welcome for coffee, treats and valuable information.

Fort Larned USD 495
to meet Monday night

LARNED — The Fort Larned USD 495 school board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Phinney Elementary.
Agenda items include an audience with individuals and groups; KASB future planning; fire alarm bids; social media policy; Larned High School After School program; Westside contract; reports from principals, directors, superintendent and board discussion; executive session for non-elected personnel; nominations, separations and transfers.

Sleep apnea clinic
scheduled Dec. 12

LARNED — Pawnee Valley’s sleep and diagnostic center will scheduled its monthly sleep apnea clinic at 5 p.m. Thursday at the large conference room at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital.
Sleep apnea patients and others are welcome to the clinic, which will feature a surprise Christmas party and door prizes for sleep apnea patients.

Quilting Bees meet

LARNED — The Quilting Bee Guild met for a potluck and Christmas gift exchange Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church.
Following a welcome from the president Colleen Wolf, Diann Morell led the group in prayer.
Following wassail and snacks, the meal was served amidst a room with holiday decorations.  
A card was signed for Ann Hicks.  
Announcements included the taking of a meal to the Hicks family, two prayer quilts made this month and the quilt show at BCCC in the art gallery through the early part of December.  
Members enjoyed the annual gift exchange which included notions, fabric and hand-made items.  There will not be the second regular guild meeting in December.  
The next regular meeting is scheduled at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the church.
Members need to bring fat quarters and dues for 2014.  Guests are welcome. For information, call the church at 620-285-6033.
