LARNED — The regular monthly meeting of the Welcome Inn Leisure Center Inc. was called to order by President Charles Wonsetler Dec. 7 at 12:50 p.m.
In addition to Charles Wonsetler, the following board members were present: Betty Tauscher, secretary; Jim Forrest, treasurer; Thelmarie Wilhite, historian; and Roger Haberman, reporter.
Absent were Ben Appel, vice president and Ernie Ashley, financial secretary.
Guests were Amy Bauer, Mona Marie Wysong and Bobbie Sharrock.
Jim Forrest gave the treasurer’s report. All bills were allowed.
More volunteer bus drivers are being requested by the Welcome Inn. Bus driving involves taking people to doctors, for example, to as far away as Wichita. There may also be some minor physical activities involved, such as moving a person in a wheelchair into and out of the bus. If interested, contact the Welcome Inn (620) 285-3504.
When the grant Betty Tauscher has submitted is approved, yoga classes will be held at the Welcome Inn. Tauscher is proposing an eight-week session. However, a 16 week session is a possibility. This class would meet once a week for 30 minutes. Tauscher is planning on at least 10 people in the program and this reporter has already verbally registered. The instructor for this class also teaches other yoga classes in Larned.
The next carry-in dinner was held Dec. 11 with Betty Tauscher and Charles Wonsetler being the hosts. The carry-in dinner held Nov. 14 was hosted by Lila Beltz and Laura Williams with a very good crowd and a lot of food available.
The meeting adjourned at 1:35 p.m. and will meet again on Jan. 4 at 12:45 p.m.
