Prior to COVID-19, the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs vet service representatives conducted monthly outreach visits, called intinerants, in many Kansas counties. However, pandemic restrictions forced these to be put on hold, said Hays-based Brian Kronewitter, western Kansas KCVA manager.
Now that COVID limitations are easing, he said the agency is bringing these visits back. They are planning to announce a schedule in July.
Kronewitter said the KCVA is re-evaluating where the representatives visit based on interest. Barton County will remain on the list, but the location may change from the KansasWorks office in Great Bend.
The agency will post the schedules on its website, kcva.ks.org.
