Middle School bands will perform Tuesday

Great Bend Middle School’s Seventh- and Eighth-grade bands, as well as the GBMS Jazz, will perform at their Fall Concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, in the South Gym of Great Bend Middle School.

Music to be performed that evening includes “Spitfire” Concert March, “This Rockin’ Band,” “This Old Dude,” “The Legacy of Heroes,” “Our America,” “Two Shaker Songs,” “Hey Jude,” and “The Blues Is Loose,” to name a few. The bands are under the direction of Don Regehr with assistance from Grant Mathews. They ask patrons to please come out and support these young musicians.

In addition, six middle school band students were selected by audition to be part of the Southwest Kansas Music Educators Association’s honor band. This band will present a concert at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, at Dodge City Middle School. Also included in the concert will be an Honor Orchestra and the High School Honor Jazz Band. Students selected for the Middle School Band include Emilee Nelson, Eva Ramirez and Ailey Williams on flute; Brandon Morgan, alto saxophone; Alondra Vazquez, tenor saxophone; and Trenton Peterson, trumpet. Great Bend High School students selected to the High School Jazz Band include Dalton Dicks, trombone; August Siefkes, piano; and Sienna Cauley, bass guitar.
