One more week of Summer Reading. The time has gone really fast! Preschoolers will met Monday at 9:30 a.m. They read Eric Carle’s “Very Hungry Caterpillar” and made a caterpillar walking on a leaf. Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. will be the time for K-2. We will be reading “Bob” and finishing our Bat Diorama. From 2-3, 3rd-5th graders will also be reading “Bob” and creating a fun chicken toy.

The caves will be taken down at the end of July, so bring your socks and come explore soon.

There will be free food at the Aug. 2 First Friday from 6-8 p.m.! We will be celebrating “Our Town” with Deana Eisenhour and Jamie Downing telling about the creation of the murals and future projects for the city. Jan Turner will keep us entertained with music and Debbie Minks will have pictures of Stafford on display. Outdoor fun will be available for young and young at heart. This will be the last First Friday of the year so be sure to come for a fun community event!

We received a donation of many adult crime books and a flannelgraph board. Do you remember flannelgraph stories? It is an old time way to tell a story that our young ones are really enjoying. This week the board featured “The Napping House” and really cute flannel pieces to illustrate the story.

Go to our Library catalog and you’ll see the new book titles that have been donated. Many “Who Done It?” additions by well known current authors. We accept good condition paperbacks and hardback books. If they duplicate what we have we can sell them and use the money to add new books to our collections.

Have you heard the sad news that RedBox has gone bankrupt and will no longer have DVDs available? Nora’s Place to the rescue! We have DVDs in the library FREE check-out, for a fun movie night at home.  We are expecting a big donation of more titles to have at your fingertips.

Nora’s Place is the place to be! We have been having 10 to 20 people every day enjoying:

• making memories with family

• playing computer games

• creating fun crafts

• exploring caves

• checking out great books

• using our computer and printer

• visiting our space to spend a few minutes between appointments

• and staying cool.

We have become a community event everyday!  Come join the fun!

Next Board Meeting: Aug. 14 at 6 p.m.
