At approximately 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Great Bend Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Morton St. and Lakin Ave.

Sandy Jenks was driving north in a red Ford Transit Connect van belonging to Delgado’s restaurant when Olma Sharp, driving east in a green Ford Taurus, ran through the stop sign, hitting Jenks’s vehicle.
According to eye witness Scott Tucker, Jenks’s vehicle flipped, was airborne briefly and then slid along Morton St. until it came to a stop on the passenger side.  Jenks was wearing a seat belt, and Tucker assisted her until authorities arrived.
“That’s the way this street is all the time,” Tucker said.
The Great Bend Fire Department ambulance responded, but neither driver required medical attention at the scene.
