Authorities probing inmate death

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Barton County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of an inmate held at the Barton County Detention Facility, according to a news release from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
The inmate was booked into the Barton County Detention Facility on Nov. 15 on charges pending in a case from another community.
The 37-year-old man was found dead in a one man cell on Friday evening. The man’s name will not be released until relatives are notified. An autopsy is planned in Hays.
Additional details will be released after the autopsy report becomes available.
The BCSO offers condolences to the family, according to the news release.
