There are new books at the Ellinwood Library. They are:

"The Silent Girl" by Tess Gerritsen. In the murky shadows of an alley and on an adjoining rooftop lie the gruesome remains of a murder victim. The grisly details will keep top homicide cop Jane Rizzoli awake at night, and soon she discovers that the violent death had a chilling prequel. Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles must outwit an unseen enemy with centuries of cunning, and a swift, avenging blade.

"The Sweet By and By" by Sara Evans. This is the story of Jade, her search for real love, her one-eyed mutt, hippie mother, and quirky vintage shop. It’s about looking backward while moving forward, about chasing dreams and fostering a very tender faith. This novel will keep your heart humming a song of joy. Also by Sara Evans, "Softly and Tenderly" features the same wonderful and unforgettable Jade, and her escape to her childhood home.

"The Distant Hours" by Kate Morton. A long lost letter arrives in the post and Edie Burchill finds herself on a journey to Milderhurst Castle, a great but moldering old house, where the Blythe spinsters live, and where her mother was housed as a child during World War II. Inside the decaying castle, Edie begins to unravel her mother’s past. But there are other secrets hidden in the old stones, and Edie is about to learn more than she expected.

"A Stolen Life" by Jaycee Dugard. This is harrowing true story of the young woman who was kept prisoner for eighteen years by her kidnapper, becoming an object for him to terrorize and abuse. This is her story of survival and triumph, of her rescue and return to her family and life in the outside world.

"Bossypants" by Tina Fey. Comedienne Tina Fey shares her unique story, from her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected...you’re no one until someone calls you bossy!

Other new titles on CD: "The Scent of Rain and Lightning" by Nancy Pickard, "The Lock Artist" by Steve Hamilton, "Burnt Mountain" by Anne Rivers Siddons, and "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese, all recent best-selling titles
