HOISINGTON —Manweiler Chevrolet, 271 S. Main St. in Hoisington, will celebrate Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary and the 83rd anniversary of Manweilers from 8 a.m. through 2 p.m.
The business was started by Gene Manweiler’s great-grandfather, F.B. Slade in 1928 and has been in the business every since. After he retired, son-in-laws August Manweiler and Wayne Maupin took over. The business passed on to Larry Manweiler and now Gene Manweiler.
The Manweilers intend for the business to stay in the family. "The plan is to pass on to Brooke Manweiler Herdon," said Gene. "They’ve been approved to be our successor."
A full day of events is planned including a free bounce house, archery shoot and food and refreshments.
