Diocese oration winners
Winners of the Dodge City Diocese oration competition were, from left, Hadley Murphy, 3rd; Abigail Murrell, 1st; and Rachel Doll, 2nd. The Diocese recently held its annual oration competition which is sponsored by Modern Woodmen of America. The topic for this years oration was A Great American Invention. Six of the Diocesan schools were represented at the contest which was held in Ness City. Those competing were: Gabriela Matinez, Dodge City; Murrell, Garden City; Doll, Ellinwood; Aric Rowland, Garden City; Murphy, Great Bend; and Kyle Harris, Ness City. Topics ranged in variation from Coca-Cola to the flashlight. The girls topics were: Murphy on the adhesive bandage; Doll on duct tape, and Murrell on the roller coaster.
