Ellinwood Grade School students are making a difference by collecting aluminum cans for Kans for Kids Fighting Cancer which benefits Barton County children.

"It’s great to see the support and enthusiasm that the kids have to support Kans for Kids," said Gail Moeder, president of the Kans For Kids board of directors.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth graders at Ellinwood Grade School were visited by Kans for Kids earlier this month. They watched a slide-show on the effects of childhood cancer and answered questions for prizes.

This is a school wide- event that the sixth graders are organizing and there will be many fun activities to benefit this local organization throughout this school year. You save cans at home until Nov. 23 or April 22. The school has no place to store the cans, so the cans can only be dropped off on those dates.
