The Ellinwood High School Forensics Team earned a third place team sweepstakes trophy in a 13-team meet at Sterling on Feb. 5. Every EHS student competing in the meet placed in the top six.

Jenna Snell placed first in Original Oration, followed by Connor Birzer who placed second in the same event. Carli Newkirk placed third in Humorous Solo Acting, and Hannah Billinger placed sixth in the same event. Hannah Maddy, Brittany Pflughoeft, and Billinger placed fourth, fifth, and sixth in Poetry Interpretation, respectively. Montara Johansen placed sixth in Informative Speaking.

The students will compete at Southeast of Saline on Feb. 12. They are coached by Julie Ann Jacobs and assisted by Angela Peterson.
