ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood is gearing up for June Jaunt from June 1-3 when central to western Kansas will be partying. Plans are progressing for Ellinwood’s part in the celebration.
The activities begin on Friday, June 1, when tours of Ellinwood’s historic tunnels are conducted at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. by Rick Casagrande.
At 8 p.m., there will be an ice cream sundae party in Wolf Park, followed by a movie.
Saturday will open with the Arts & Antique Outdoor Market, K-96 and Main. The festivities open at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Local musicians will be performing throughout the day and there will be children’s art projects.
There will also be an antique car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Main St. along with a craft show in Wolf Park.
Area merchants will also have sidewalk sales and specials. Tours of Ellinwood’s underground tunnels will be offered at 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m.
A petting zoo will be at the American Legion parking lot.
For those that like German foods, bierocks, pork and sauerkraut and German potato salad will be available for sale and local restaurants will be open.
