HOISINGTON — The Hoisington Summer Recreation will bring live entertainment to the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Hoisington High School auditorium with the play "The Lion Who Wouldn’t" starring participants in the rec program.
The evening will open with a variety show directed by Britany Axman and Karisa Kaiser. The show will feature skits, singing and piano playing.
Directed by Drew Resiner, Kayla Reisner and Logan Riedel, the "Trashcan Band" will perform next with trashcans and "junk" to make music.
Directed by Ashley McHenry and Donna Craven, "The Lion Who Wouldn’t," is a story about a lion who doesn’t want to be a circus lion any more. So, a group of kids help him act out his dream. In the end, the lion realizes he was always meant to be a lion.
Actors in the play are: Victoria Littrell, Brooke Steinert, Lexen McHenry, Romi Tesch, Emma Willesden, Madi Grandclair, Liza Ward, Grace Grandclair, Jakob Breit, Emilee Baze, and Johnell Moshier.
