Mildred A. Sayler, 91, died on March 30 at Sterling House in Great Bend. She was born July 7, 1919 on the farm in Banner Township, Rush County, the daughter of John and Frances (Smisek) Serpan.
Mrs. Sayler married Albert Lowell Sayler on Aug. 27, 1938 at Dighton. He died May 29, 1991. She was a homemaker and a lifetime Rush and Barton County resident, living the last six years in Great Bend. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and was a former Sunday School teacher, and 4-H and Albert Jolly Hustlers helper.
Survivors include: son John G. Sayler and wife Virginia of Lawrence; one daughter, Margaret Dumler and husband Calvin of Great Bend; three grandchildren John Mark Sayler, Sara Louise Henning and Laura Deanne Stevens; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Karen, Elisabeth and Daniel Sayler. She was preceeded in death by one sister, Helen Mary Brack and one granddaughter, Karen E. Sayler.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Tom Sheldon officiating. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
