ELLINWOOD — A benefit auction will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 12 to benefit the Sts. Peter and Paul Church steeple/bell tower project at the Barton County 4-H building.

The Sts. Peter and Paul Heritage Association Board of Trustees are accepting donations of new, used or handmade items by Jan. 15. All of the proceeds from donated items will be applied to the steeple project.

According to Joe Hickel of the Heritage Association, donations have already been made of new items such as furniture.

Beginning today, the Association will host a Rosary Rally at 3 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul. They will continue to hold a rosary on the second Sunday of each month throughout this year. All are invited to attend.

The church is the oldest church in the Dodge City Diocese, having been built in 1892.

The steeple was destroyed in the 2007 tornado.

To donated, call 620-786-4964 or 620-564-2355.
