HOISINGTON — Brent Rouse has recently been hired as the new Emergency Medical Services director in Hoisington, moving from Larned.

I’m enjoying my new position," said Rouse.

His new position has brought new responsibilities. In Larned, he was primarily involved in patient care as a full-time paramedic. In Hoisington, he is more involved in running the service as well as patient care.

"It’s a good change. I’m pretty happy with it," he said. Rouse took an EMT class when he was 17 and was certified in 2001. He graduated in 2008 with an associates from Barton Community College. In addition, he has taken additional certification classes.

He enjoys most though, the patient care aspect and being able to show up when someone is need of care.

His goal for Hoisington is to make the best service that he can and develop more advanced training for the EMTs.

He has three children and an infant. Rouses hobbies include spending time with his kids going fishing and playing at the park. The family goes on a vacation once a year to see the world.
