Cars collide on icy road

Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a head-on collision Thursday morning in Barton County, after a car slid on ice south of Great Bend and hit another car head-on. One driver was injured.
The accident occurred at 7:28 a.m., 2 miles south of Great Bend on U.S. 281. A 2003 Dodge driven by Debra V. Larkin, 36, Great Bend, was southbound when she lost control due to the ice. The car crossed the center line and struck a 2002 Dodge driven by Krystal Dawn Wohlcke, 36, Hoisington. Wohlcke was taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington.
Larkin was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
The cars were removed by Marshalls and Doonans.
