Collision at RR Ave. and McKinley causes minor injuries

An injury accident occurred at 5:50 p.m. Monday at Railroad Ave. and McKinley St. (SW 10 Ave.), south of Great Bend.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports that Joseph Pfannenstiel, 29, Great Bend, was driving a 2007 Ford Edge that was stopped at the intersection waiting to make a left turn. Jason Battaglear, 19, Great Bend, was driving a 2003 Lincoln Aviator south on McKinley and struck the Ford Edge, which was pushed across Railroad Ave. onto SW 10 Ave. The Lincoln Aviator struck the Ford Edge a second time from the rear and shoved it across the railroad tracks on SW 10 Ave., where it came to rest.
Pfannenstiel was transported to Great Bend Regional Hospital for minor injuries; Battaglear was treated and released at the scene.
Neither driver was wearing a seat belt.
